Lotus Cup Europe’s second season under the control of LoTRDC gets underway this weekend (1 May) at the fabled Nurburgring circuit in Germany with what promises to be a grid of close to forty competitors – that’s am amazing three-fold increase in numbers since LoTRDC took charge of the Group Lotus-sanctioned series at the beginning of last season!
The Nurburgring race will be the first of seven events in five countries on the 2010 Lotus Cup Europe Calendar, and with average grids of 40 cars expected at all rounds, action-packed racing is assured!

Lotus Cup Europe is pleased to announce that specialist lubricants supplier Motul will join the series as sponsor and technical partner. With a presence in many areas of international motor sport and a commitment to evolve their products alongside the fast-moving engine technology of today, Motul’s support will be welcomed by organisers and competitors alike.
A technical team from Motul will attend all 2010 Lotus Cup Europe events, starting with the opening round at Nurburgring (Germany) on 1st May. Whilst at Nurburgring drivers will be able to take part in a technical briefing by representatives of the oil company where they will also be presented with a Motul welcome pack.

Snetterton Lotus Festival (UK) is now scheduled for 19-20 June 2010.
We are pleased to announce the 2010 Lotus Cup Europe calendar. Each round will consist of a minimum of Free Practice (20 mins), Qualifying (20 mins) and two races (20 mins & 30 mins) the entry fee will be £450 per round. A full breakdown of each event will follow.

Lotus Cup Europe will continue to move in the same direction in 2010 with confirmation that LoTRDC will continue to run the series. More details on calendar and regulations are to follow but regulations are expected to be similar to 2009, the only major change being the inclusion of an invite class for Elises and Exiges that don’t currently meet regulations. 211, Exige and Production classes will all continue.

Qualifying and both Lotus Cup Europe races at Donington Park next month will take place on Saturday 15th August rather than across the whole weekend as originally advertised. With there being a 3 hr track day on the Friday evening this change should benefit all drivers.
Lotus Cup Europe will now have a round in Italy. The series will join forces with Lotus Cup Italy and support World Touring Cars and Formula 2 at the historic Grand Prix circuit on 18th-20th September. Entry fee will remain at £350 with 2 lots of free practice, qually and one 40 minute race, with a 3 minute pit stop. Two driver teams will be allowed.
This coming weekend see’s the 2nd round of the 2009 Lotus Cup Europe and we visit another one of Europe’s top 10 circuits, Zandvoort in Holland.
Following on from the full grid of 44 Lotus at Brands Hatch we have yet another full grid at Zandvoort with 33 cars entered for what is a maximum grid of just 30 cars due to noise restrictions. HARC who organise the State of Art Historische Zandvoort Trophy meeting have given permission for a maximum of 5 extra cars to start.
Local Lotus main dealer Van der Kooi Sportscars are supporting the event and have arranged for a separate parking area inside the paddock for 50 Lotus owners. Ex-F1 World Champion Alan Jones was hugely impressed by the number of Lotus in the car parks at Brands so support should be strong again at Zandvoort.
We also see a record number of entries in both the LCE 211 and Exige classes.
Spectator entry is available on the day with free practice, qually and race 1 taking part on Saturday and race 2 on Sunday lunch time.
The 2009 Lotus Cup Europe season got underway at Brands Hatch last weekend with a full grid of 44 cars. Lotus Cup Europe joined with the Elise Trophy to support the final round of the 2009 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
Scotland’s Scott Cruickshank took 2 our of 3 race wins in Lotus Cup Europe with a 2nd overall to add to that impressive result. Jon Walker took the other win on a weekend when local knowledge gave a huge advantage. David Seear was the leading Exige with John Rasse pressing him hard and taking 2nd in all 3 of the Exige races. Frenchman Christophe Lisandre was the pic of the non Brits in the 211 class with two thirds and a well deserved 2nd.
Former F1 World Champion Alan Jones MBE presented trophies on the podium, while World Land Speed record holder Wing Commander Andy Green met drivers in the paddock. Emmerson Fittipaldi, Alan Prost and a number of recent F1 drivers were present in the paddock and around Brands Hatch.

Lotus Cup Europe gears up for it’s opening round at Brands Hatch this coming weekend. There will be 3 races with a full grid of 44 211’s, Exiges and Elises. Quallifying will take place at 15.55 on Friday 1st May, Race 1 at 9.30 on Saturday, Race 2 at 10.00 on Sunday – just before the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Sprint Race while the final Lotus race will come at prime time 12.30 Sunday lunch time.

Today see’s the launch of our new website to tie in with the opening of the Geneva motorshow, where a Lotus Exige Cup 260 is on display on series sponsors, Yokohama’s stand. Lotus Cars will also be promoting the series throughout the show with advertising material and the series promotional dvd playing.

The 2nd race at Spa Francorchamps on 4th October has been extended to 30 mins, entry fee remains unchanged.
LoTRDC have today published all 7 entry forms for the 2009 Lotus Cup Europe. Entry fee’s have been set at a maximum of £350 (approx 400€) for all rounds with the exception of Donington Park which is just £300. The entry fee includes free practice at some rounds including Spa and Le Mans.
LoTRDC & MSVR have released their calendar for Lotus Cup Europe 2009. With 7 Grand Prix circuits in 5 countries we expect this to be one of the most exciting calendars in European Club Motorsport. The opening round see’s the series supporting one of the biggest events in European motorsport with the series supporting A1GP at Brands Hatch. A1GP was launched at Brands in 2005 in front of 72,000 passionate spectators and a large crowd is expected in May when Lotus Cup Europe joins the spectacle.
